Fox News Video – Top Video: “McCain Says He Saw Credit Crisis Coming”.

About the Crisis – Obama did nothing, “in fact he profited from it”

Obama claims McCain is “stealing our ideas:” Can you believe it – stealing his ideas. It reminds me of when Obama claimed his “Plan for Iraq” was working. His plan to withdraw is working – is he out of his mind?  Today, while Obama was in Wisconsin, he claimed that he assisted Democratic Senator Russ Feingold (Dem, WI.) with his landmark Campaign Finance Reform Act. LMAO – I’m not making this up. The landmark legislation he is referring to is the McCain – Feingold Act – yep – McCain as in John McCain. Oh, by the way Barack – the McCain-Feingold act passed in 2002 – you didn’t get to the Senate for 2 years after that.

Update on SNL Incest Insult to the Palins

NBC jokes: Todd Palin has sex with daughters
‘Saturday Night Live’ skit suggests Sarah’s husband guilty of incest

A week after a high-profile send-up of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on “Saturday Night Live,” the NBC comedy show returned to making fun of the Alaskan governor in a skit where New York Times reporters sought to probe the possibility Palin’s husband, Todd, was having sex with the couple’s own daughters.

“What about the husband?” asked a Times reporter during a mock assignment meeting for the paper. “You know he’s doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It’s Alaska.

The assignment editor for the Times, portrayed by actor James Franco, responded: “He very well could be. Admittedly, there is no evidence of that, but on the other hand, there is no convincing evidence to the contrary. And these are just some of the lingering questions about Governor Palin.”

The skit featured a photo of one reporter and an on-screen message that stated, “In 2009 [reporter] Howland Gwathmey Moss, V was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his Times series on unproven, yet un-disproven incest in the Palin family. Sadly, he was to die 3 months later, run over by a snow machine, driven by a polar bear.”

The final shot showed an image of a New York Times page, with headlines that included:

“While No Direct Evidence of Incest in Palin Family Emerges, Counter Evidence Remains Agonizingly Elusive” and “In a Small Alaska Town, Doubts Still Linger.”

The sketch seemed to be designed to mock how out of touch journalists from the Big Apple are when it comes to their knowledge of Alaska, with left-leaning, Manhattan-dwelling reporters mistaking a snowmobile for a “baptizing machine,” a crucifix and a NordicTrack exerciser in photographs held up for them.

Some viewers expressed outrage.

“It is time the Palin family brought out the big guns. They need to sue General Electric, NBC, ‘Saturday Night Live,'” said Al Barrs of Bascom, Fla. “This is clearly criminal and defamation of character of an entire family and state. All the above needs to be taken to their knees big time once and for all.”

“What if somebody did one with this kind of humor on Obama and his daughters?” asked Jim Cash of Chattanooga, Tenn. “What an uproar there would be. This line of humor is tasteless and moronic and about as low as they could go. There simply must be an uproar over this. We cannot let this just pass.”

NBC’s website for “Saturday Night Live” normally contains video clips of the show’s comedy routines, but, interestingly, the clip of the incest sketch was never posted online.

The only thing worse than the scummy attacks on the Palins and McCains is the liberal press’ failure to call Candidate Obama on his falsehood and misrepresentations. Can you imagine if 3 McCain advisors had been involved with wrong doing at Fannie Mae, had been charged with lying to Congress, “cooking the books”, taking illegal loans, and falsifying records to obtain a bonus – What would be the press reaction. There has ben no reaction to Obama’s Advisors – Jim Johnson, Franklin Raines and Tim Howard.

Heck, there has been more coverage on Obama’s smear of McCain Campaign Manager Rick Davis – A lobbyist who has never ever been accused of wrong doing. The liberal press will trea an honest man with contempt is he is a conservatibve and excsue a felon – thief – and liar as long as he is a liberal.

SNL Palin Incest Attack – It can’t get any lower!

Politics you can believe in!  You think so?   Its time to boycott NBC.

SNL’ Palin-Incest Joke Falls Flat In Sketch Lampooning New York Times

In Saturday Night Live’s second attempt to mock this year’s vice presidential race, a sketch lampooning The New York Times as out of touch has instead touched off a firestorm by throwing out a much more insidious inference — incest — between Todd Palin and his pregnant, teenage daughter, Bristol.

While SNL fans had widely anticipated the return of Tina Fey in an edgy yet endearing role as Sarah Palin, Saturday’s sketch has managed to reignite the furor sparked by claims early this month that the Republican vice presidential candidate is not the mother of her 5-month-old son, Trig.

The sketch, say supporters, was supposed to accentuate how disconnected The New York Times is from anything west of the Hudson River, particularly Alaska. But critics say that the sketch backfired by suggesting that Todd Palin committed incest.

In the sketch, New York Times reporters are sitting around an assignment meeting discussing what about Palin to investigate next.

One reporter asks: “What about the husband? You know he’s doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It’s Alaska.”

Guest host James Franco, who played the assignment editor, sets up the joke of proving a negative, saying, “He very well could be. Admittedly, there is no evidence of that, but on the other hand, there is no convincing evidence to the contrary. And these are just some of the lingering questions about Governor Palin.”

After three of the reporters agree to go to Alaska, one sues for sexual discrimination after being called “sweetie” by a school board member, one is killed by a polar bear and a final reporter wins a Pulitzer for “unproven, yet un-disproven incest in the Palin family” and then is killed by a polar bear driving a “snow machine.”

The final shot in the rambling joke is an image of a New York Times page, featuring headlines: “While No Direct Evidence of Incest in Palin Family Emerges, Counter Evidence Remains Agonizingly Elusive” and “In a Small Alaska Town, Doubts Still Linger.”

Conservative bloggers are infuriated over the incest joke, most particularly because it plays off claims earlier this month that 17-year-old Bristol Palin is the mother of Trig Palin.

Bristol Palin is five months pregnant and therefore could not be Trig’s mother, John McCain’s campaign noted earlier this month in efforts to diffuse widespread and unfounded gossip that surrounded Trig’s maternity.

Still, left-wing conspirators dissatisfied with that response, have argued that Trig Palin, who was born with Down syndrome, a much more frequent occurrence in women over 40, could have been the outcome of incest, which also increases the odds of the disability.

Now, some bloggers are urging protests of the show be sent to producer Lorne Michaels. The video was not posted on the SNL Web site.

Obama “Deregulation Caused This Crisis” – An Ignorant Claim Or Political Spin?

Obama continues to blame the current financial crisis on “deregulation”. Either Obama knows that  claim to be false or he is ignorant of how this crisis evolved:

The path to our current cirisis started with these steps;

Step 1).  Mortgage Underwriting standards were lowered – begining in the early 1990’s.,2933,424945,00.html

The Federal Reserve’s Board of Governor’s created a new set of standards to govern Mortgage Lending practices.,2933,424945,00.html

The Federal Reserve’s involvement in creating this problem gives one reason to question if the Public should trust the Federal Reserve to oversee the proposed bailout.

The lowered standards minimized the importance of a borrowers Credit History, Downpayment, Job History or Income. These “tried and true” criteria were called “outdated”. The Boston Federal Reserve created a Manual outling the  “new criteria” in 1992.,2933,424945,00.html

These rules were “pushed” by Fannie Mae to the extreme. Those who co-operated were rewarded.

One lender singled out by Fannie Mae for special praise for following these new criteria was Countrywide:

Countrywide tends to follow the most flexible underwriting criteria permitted under [Government Sponsored Enterprises] and FHA guidelines. Because Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac tend to give their best lenders access to the most flexible underwriting criteria, Countrywide benefits from its status as one of the largest originators of mortgage loans and one of the largest participants in the [Government Sponsored Enterprises] programs. When necessary — in cases where applicants have no established credit history, for example — Countrywide uses nontraditional credit, a practice now accepted by the [Government Sponsored Enterprises].

Or take a 1998 sales pitch from Bear Stearns, which also followed the Boston Fed manual:

Credit scores. While credit scores can be an analytical tool with conforming loans, their effectiveness is limited with [Community Reinvestment Act] loans. Unfortunately, [Community Reinvestment Act] loans do not fit neatly into the standard credit score framework… Do we automatically exclude or severely discount … loans [with poor credit scores]? Absolutely not.

Given these lending practices mandated by the Fed and encouraged by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the resulting financial problems for financial institutions such as Countrywide and Bear Stearns are not too surprising.

Noted Economics Professor Stan Liebowitz, University of Texas (Dallas) states, “such reckless behavior by [Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac] has lead to their financial meltdown and to the financial problems for the whole country. During Franklin Raines’ chairmanship of Fannie Mae, they were a major proponent of relaxing standards.”

Step 2). Congress blocked suggested reform aimed at correcting the crisis early on. Take a look at Congressman Barney Frank, Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Wikipedia Biography.  The Bio not only claims that, ” Frank “sits at the center of power.” but boasts, “In 2003, Frank opposed Bush Administration and Congressional Republican efforts for the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis of 1980’s. Under the plan a new agency would have been created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry. “These two entities, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are not facing any kind of financial crisis,” Frank said. He added, “The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”

Also read Senator Christopher Dodd, (Dem CT) Wikipedia Biography. That biography notes,  “Dodd was elected to the Senate in the 1980 election“, From 1995 to 1997, he served as General Chairman of the Democratic National Committee.” Dodd is Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee. The biography goes on to note, “The Center for Public Integrity has criticized Dodd for “being the leading advocate in the Senate on behalf of the accounting industry.” Political consultant and commentator Dick Morris wrote that Dodd had received more from accounting firm Arthur Andersen than any other Democrat and bore responsibility for trying to shield accounting firms from investor fraud liability in cases such as the Enron scandal.” Arthur Anderson was forced to surrender it license to practice Accounting in the US. The Biography goes on to note, “Senator Dodd was involved in issues related to the federal takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.” “The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 before Congress in the summer of 2008, Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson sought provisions enabling the Treasury to add additional capital and regulatory oversight over these government sponsored enterprises. Dodd denied rumors these firms were in financial crisis. He called the firms “fundamentally strong” said they were in “sound situation” and “in good shape” and to “suggest they are in major trouble is not accurate” . He suggested observers were panicking “There’s sort of a panic going on today, and that’s not what ought to be. The facts don’t warrant that reaction, in my opinion,”

The Congress also blocked other legislation intended to tighten accounting standards and increase regualtory oversight of Fannie Mae.

Contrary to Obama’s Claim – there have been no Congressional Proposals to de-regulate Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac in the last 10 yrs. Fact – Democrats prevented any regulatory changes proposed to limit Fannie & Freddie’s activities – to return to “traditional mortgage underwriting”.

Step 3). The men appointed to run Fannie and Freddie abandoned their public duties for private gain. One hid his true salary from Congress, two others were accussed of lying to Congress, three have plead guilty to criminal charges and paid millions of dollars in Civil Fines. Three have taken special “VIP Loans” from Countrywide Bank – Countrywide is under FBI investigation for Securities Fraud. To read a more detailed summary of their misconduct see:

This informatiopn copmes from public records – either candidate Obama knows his accusations are hollow political spin or he is truely ignorant of what has transpired.

If you can’t admit what caused a problem – you can’t fix the problem.
