Ground Zero Imam: Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf – Denier, Defender and Apologist For the Genocide in Dafur, the Sudanese President and the Janjaweed/Militia.

McAuley’s World Comments In Blue

What absolute nonsense… it is well known that Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf refuses to condemn HAMAS  but did you know Imam Rauf also refuses to acknowledge or condemn the Genocide in Dafur, Sudan?

Genocide Arrest Warrant Poster - Sudanese President

“12 July 2010 – UNITED NATIONS – The International Criminal Court (ICC) today issued a second arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, adding genocide to the list of charges for crimes he has allegedly committed in the war-ravaged Darfur region.”. “In March 2009 the Sudanese leader became the first sitting head of State to be indicted by the Court, which charged him with two counts of war crimes and five counts of crimes against humanity.”

http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=27361&Cr=Darfur&Cr1 http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/jul/14/sudan.warcrimes1

The Sudanese government has orchestrated and taken part in “large-scale international crimes” in Darfur, a high-level UN human rights team said today. Headed by the Nobel peace laureate Jody Williams, the UN assessors found the Sudanese government was responsible for waging a ruthless campaign resulting in war crimes and human rights abuses.”The principal pattern is one of a violent counter-insurgency campaign waged by the government of the Sudan in concert with Janjaweed/militia, and targeting mostly civilians. Rebel forces are also guilty of serious abuses of human rights and violations of humanitarian law”

Imam Rauf refuses to even recognize the genocide, never mind condemn the genocide.

The U.N. estimates that 300,000 people have been killed and another 2.7 million forced from their homes… http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=27361&Cr=Darfur&Cr1

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/jul/14/sudan.warcrimes1

Amid the killing of tens of thousands of people, women in Darfur’s towns, villages and camps have experienced grave human rights abuses, including abductions, sexual slavery, torture and forced displacement at the hands of the Janjawid. As Amnesty International reported in July; women and girls as young as 8 are being raped and used as sex slaves in the conflict area, despite guarantees by the Sudanese government to disarm the Janjawid. These women and girls are being attacked not only to dehumanize them, but also to humiliate, punish, control, inflict fear upon, displace and persecute the community to which they belong.

The Janjawid have acted with full impunity and with the full knowledge or acquiescence of the government army, and the government of Sudan has not charged a single member of the Janjawid or of the armed forces with committing rape or kidnapping. In fact, the mass rapes ongoing in Darfur are war crimes and crimes against humanity that the international community is doing little to stop.

http://www.womensenews.org/story/commentary/040818/help-stop-violence-against-women-darfur

There is an undeniable and overwhelming international consensus that genocide is taking place in Dafur. Imam Rauf refuses to even acknowledge the genocide, let alone condemn it… Contrary to what the liberal MSM is spinning … “Bridge Building” is not always a “positive” endeavor,  sometimes it is preferable to keep the river between you and what is on the other side. Just ask the women and children of Dafur. They have “No Where To Turn”.”Nowhere to Turn” is the title of a report documenting the scope and long-term impact of rape and other sexual violence experienced by women who fled attacks on their villages in Darfur and are now refugees in neighboring Chad. This scientific study was conducted in partnership with Harvard Humanitarian Initiative (HHI). http://physiciansforhumanrights.org/library/report-2009-05-31.html

Imam behind NYC Mosque Faces Divisions over Center

Artist Rendering Ground Zero Memorial Park

NEW YORK

—Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has long worked to bridge divisions, be they fissures between interfaith husbands and wives or political chasms separating the United States and the Muslim world. The 61-year-old clergyman is now in the midst of a polarizing political, religious and cultural debate over plans for a multistory Islamic center that will feature a mosque, health club and theater about two blocks north of ground zero.

He is one of the leaders of the Park 51 Project, but has largely been absent from the national debate over the implications of building a Muslim house of worship so close to where terrorists killed more than 2,700 people.

Though Rauf has said the center, which could cost more than $100 million, would serve as a space for interfaith dialogue, moderate Muslim practice and peaceful prayer, critics say it will create a base for radical, anti-American Islam. Some critics have also asked where the funding for the center might originate and whether it may come from sources linked to Muslim extremists.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a potential 2012 presidential candidate, called the backers of the project  “radical Islamists.” “They’re trying to make a case about supremacy” with the center, he said.

The American Jewish Committee has said that while Park51’s leaders have a right to build their center, they must “fully reveal” their sources of funding and “unconditionally condemn” terrorism inspired by Islamist ideology before they can obtain the organization’s support.

Those who know Rauf and have worked with him say that he is anything but extreme in his beliefs or intentions.

“He is one of the really important Muslim leaders in America, working for and working with other religions,” said the Rev. James Parks Morton, the former dean of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Divine who has known Rauf and his family for more than 30 years. “He’s a very, very conciliatory, intellectual guy.”

During the past few months, Rauf has been in Malaysia, where his family has long-standing ties, and on a State Department-financed goodwill tour of Gulf countries.

Through a spokesman and his wife, he declined to speak with The Associated Press in recent weeks. His few interviews lately have been with local Arabic media during his State Department tour.

He told the daily Bahrain newspaper Akhbar Al-Khaleej on Aug. 24 that he blamed the news media, in part, for strained relations between Muslims and Americans. Rauf said the media “has succeeded in portraying stereotypical images, focusing on the negative and criticizing the other.”

[What role does the media play in Dafur, Sudan? Does the Imam believe the media has created a false “impression” of the genocide in Dafur? Shockingly, the answer is yes! The Imam will tell you the genocide in Dafur is, in fact, a fiction of the Western media.]

Ground Memorial Pool - Victims Names Will Be Inscribed Around The Pool

With Rauf largely absent from the debate, opponents have scoured past statements and critics portray the imam as tone-deaf to the sensitivities of families who lost relatives on Sept. 11. They argue he should forthrightly condemn Arab political movements such as Hamas that the U.S. government has designated as terrorist organizations.

Asked in June by WABC-AM whether he believed the State Department was correct in designating Hamas as a terrorist organization, Rauf gave a winding response: “I am not a politician. … The issue of terrorism is a very complex question. … I do not want to be placed … in a position of … where I am the target of one side or another.”

[Evil is evil and should be called what it is …. there is no room for equivocation]

Rauf rarely deviates in his interviews, speeches and books from a core message of the need for interfaith dialogue to resolve religious conflicts. What emerges is a portrait of a man who has passionately argued that Islam is inherently compatible with American life, and that each is enriched by the other.

[Then the Imam should stand and call for the acceptance of a universal right to “Freedom of Religion” and ask that his fellow Imams and the leaders in every Muslim Counrty and every other land of the world open their borders and welcome those who do not share the Muslim faith and that these people be allowed to establish  or re-establish Synagogues, Temples and Churches throughout Muslim lands … to put into practice the words of the Prophet Mohammed, “…There is no compulsion in religion…” (Quran 2:256),  because without such a statement and such actions Islam is not “inherently compatible with American life” … Why would the Imam not make such a call on behalf of “freedom of religion” everywhere? ]

[… “to resolve religious conflict”,  how then does one resolve the “relgious conflict” in Dafur when the “conflict’ takes the form of genocide and one will not admit that genocide is taking place … genocide is not a “religious conflict” that can be “negotiated” … genocide is an evil and genocide must be ended not “negotiated” … one cannot compromise on genocide]

He has strongly opposed acts of violence in the name of Islam.

[Well, what absolute nonsense – to begin with Imam Rauf denies the genocide in Dafur, and is a major apologist for the Sudanese Regime charged with War Crimes by the U.N. International Criminal Court …]

“The Quran allows fighting only in defense — when we are attacked or thrown from our homes or denied our basic rights because of what we choose to believe,” he writes in his 2004 book.

Terrorist Group Al-Shebab Beheads 7 "Christian Spies"

[One of the reasons for the genocide in  Dafur is that the native Sudanese African farmers are “animists” and follow the ancient beliefs of their ancestors and refuse to surrender or “submit” to the Quran … The Islamists and Imam Rauf refuse to permit the African Sudanese’ the right to a freedom of their own ancestral religions. Animist: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/animist ]

“But even in those cases where fighting is allowed, the Quran never allows the killing of innocent people.”

[Why then does Imam Rauf refuse to acknowledge and condemn the genocide in Dafur?]

The annex of his book includes a 2001 fatwa, or religious ruling, signed by five Islamic scholars, that permits Muslims to fight for U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

He also writes that there is no circumstance under which the Prophet permitted suicide, and says so-called “martyrdom operations” are unsupported by Islam.

It is a phenomena that no civilized society — in the Muslim world or the West — should be content to accept,” he said.

Boys, 15 & 16 years old executed for "homosexuality"

[An interesting phrase and concept, “a phenomena that no civilized society … should be content to accept“. Don’t civilized societies believe in “Freedom of Religion” for all, don’t civilized societies condemn genocide and don’t “civilized societies” condemn terroists orgainizations like HAMAS?]

Rauf was born in Kuwait, the son of an Egyptian imam and noted Islamic scholar, Muhammad Abdul Rauf, who came to New York City in the 1960s and helped lead efforts to establish the Islamic Cultural Center of New York, the city’s first building designed as a mosque. The multimillion-dollar project took more than 25 years and opened in 1991. The elder Rauf also led the Islamic Center of Washington before taking a job in Malaysia.

The younger Rauf didn’t follow his father’s path into religion until later in life. He studied physics at Columbia University and in New Jersey, and dabbled in teaching, sales and real estate. He married, first to an American who converted to Islam, and a second time to a Malaysian woman. He has two children from each of the marriages.

[When was the Imam at Columbia? Did he study at Columbia with President Obama? Neither Obama’s nor Rauf’s

Mass Execution of Christian "dissidents" by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Court

records from Columbia have been made available for public review … can you name even one prior President who has kept his educational records secret from the American public?

I find this curious, not for some grand conspriracy theory, but because my tax dollars are paying for Rauf’s tour of the Middle East and I want to know if that might be due to a personal friendship between Obama and Rauf, one that may have started at Columbia University. Obvioulsy, the MSM failed to properly vet either of these men …]

In the late 1990s, he married his third wife, Daisy Khan, who has actively supported the Islamic center proposal.

In 1983, Rauf was asked to lead prayers at a small mosque in lower Manhattan, 12 blocks from the World Trade Center site and near the Park51 project. The mosque, Masjid al-Farah, was created by a Sufi order called Nur Ashki Jerrahi, currently led by a woman, which means the order of light and love. Sufism is a mystical tradition that emphasizes a direct and personal experience of God through chanting and other acts of devotion, and is known for adapting to local culture.

[ http://www.allaboutreligion.org/sufism.htm – The author of the article has failed to note that the proposed “Ground Zero Mosque ” has nothing to do with the Sufi Sect. There are no Islamic states which regard themselves as officially Sufi. Sufism is characterized by the veneration of local saints and by brotherhoods that practice their own rituals. Sufis organize themselves into “orders” or groups, called Tariqas. These groups are headed by a leader called a Shaykh who is considered the most spiritual man with the most Taqwa among them. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/intro/islam-sufi.htm

Rauf is especially popular among young, urban professionals.

CRIME: Adultery SENTENCE: Beheading

Author Asra Nomani said she once attended a retreat organized by Rauf and Khan, and noted that Rauf allowed parallel prayer sections for men and women — a rare practice. In the majority of mosques, women sit behind men, shielded by a room divider.

“Imam Feisal, he has always been on a moderate course — many of us would call it a liberal-progressive course,” said Saleemah Abdul, 36, who works for the United Nations and is editor of a book on American Muslim women. “He has promoted women’s leadership, youth leadership in a time and a place where many Muslims felt isolated and alienated.”

[Liberal-Progressive? Is this what she means by Liberal-Progressive behavior? Parallel prayer sections? Wouldn’t a “Liberal-Progressive” publicly acknowledge a universal right to freedom of religion, that all men and woman are created equally and that all people are made in the image of God; Muslim, Jew – Hindu – Anamist and Christian, believer and non-believer alike, and that equal rights between the sexs are God given, not a creation of man. Wouldn’t a “Liberal-Progessive”  call upon all world leaders to acknowledge the same, specifically, that the leaders in Muslim lands recognize these basic rights of all mankind. If this is not so than how can Islam be “inherently compatible with American life”. Tell me do good “Liberal -Progressive Muslim’s” deny and defend genocide these days? Liberal – Progressive Islam with it’s “parallel prayer sections” for men and women and it’s “parellel systems of justice” for believer and non-believer …]

Rauf helped to establish the American Society for Muslim Advancement and the Cordoba Initiative, two organizations with missions to build dialogue between Muslims and the West.

[See the links above and the Imam’s actual letters from the Cordoba Initiative to the American Muslim Magazine, concerning what one might think is, based upon the Imam’s letters, a “genocide-less” Dafur].

His travels have been financed partly by the U.S. government, which has been sending him on diplomatic trips to

Muslim nations since the Bush administration. Contributions to his nonprofit organizations have come from American groups like the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Ford Foundation, government agencies in Qatar and the Netherlands, and the Kingdom Foundation, a philanthropy affiliated with Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal, the largest shareholder in Citigroup.

After the Sept. 11 attacks, Rauf was called on repeatedly by news organizations to help explain to Americans why the U.S. was so hated by some factions in the Muslim world.

[Can he now explain to us why the “Muslim’s Factions” are so hated in Dafur today? Can the Imam explain the Muslim world’s replusion to the freedom of religion, revulsion to freedom of speech, freedom of expression and equality of the sexes and how this revulsion lies at the root of Islam’s replusion to all that is “inherently compatible with American life “ ]

Some of his comments then have now been seized on by critics as evidence of anti-American views.

Iraqi Army Invades Kuwait

“We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al Qaida has on its hands of innocent non-Muslims, he said in a 2005 lecture in Australia. “You may remember that the U.S.-led sanction against Iraq led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children. This has been documented by the United Nations.”

[What a strange analogy for a “Liberal/Progressive”; Is he refering to the sanctions approved by 114 member countries of the United Nations, sanctions that were put in place after Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait and the Regime of Suddam Hussien’s continued “human rights violations”,”acts of genocide’ and “crimes against humanity”, the acts that ultimately led to the conviction and execution of Hussein by the Iraqi people …  http://www1.american.edu/TED/iraqsanc.htm

Has the Imam been asked his opinion about the execution of Saddam Hussien? Were the Iraqi people justified in their actions? Was the execution a “just act” under Muslim Law as he understands it?

Given this statement by the Imam and the Imam’s failure to condemn HAMAS, shouldn’t the MSM ask the Imam his

opinion of the current sanctions against Iran? To specifically ask the Imam his opinion … will the sanctions against Iran provide justification for the Imam to one day compare the terrorist activities of a rogue group of militant extremists to the unified actions taken by the United Nations against Iran? Could the Iranian sanctions serve to  justify some other terrorist attack in the Imam’s mind? A Liberal? A Progressive?]

Rauf told an interviewer in July that about a decade ago he envisioned a global association of Muslim community centers modeled after the Young Men’s Christian Association, serving as centers of interfaith dialogue and spreading moderate Islam worldwide.

The first of these Cordoba Houses, as he initially referred to them, would be established in New York City.

[The quetion that begs to be asked is this, “and is it your intent that these Centers replace the YMCA’s, that your “Centers” will act to the exclusion or explusion of  YMCA’s throughout the world as Mosques have acted to forcibly replace Synagogues, Churches and Temples throughout the Muslim world? Is your goal, first and foremost, not interfaith dialogue but to spread Islam?]

Iraqi Troops Arrive in Halabja After Gas Attack - 5000 Murdered

“Our stated objective is to establish this as a launching point, as a headquarters if you want, of a global understanding, of a moderate Islam that is true to its fundamental principles,” He told the New York-based Intersections International, a group that has endorsed the Islamic center.

[Coincidentally, this is the same group that employed Michael Enright the man who slashed New York City Taxi Driver Ahmed H Shari.

What did the Imam just say? Did the Imam just say the “Mosque would serve as a headquarters for the launching point of an Islam that is true to its fundamentalist principles”?. I, for one, believe he did … I for one, want a clear definition of the Imam’s “moderate Islam”, especially a “moderate Islam … true to it’s fundamentalist principles’ …]

“And to accuse us as being the opposite of that flies in the face off our stated vision, our mission, my track record and everything I’ve ever done or stood for.”

Twelve Questions For Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf

1). Will you acknowledge the genocide in Dafur?

2). Do you acknowledge the charges of “War Crimes” brought by the United Nations International Criminal Court against the regime in the Sudan?

3). Will you condemn the genocide in Dafur?

4). Do you, as an individual, recognize an international right, an unalienable right, of all people throughout the world to worship or not worship, as they choose, without fear of harm, an international right to freedom of religion for all people?

5). Do you call upon all leaders, in all lands and of all faiths to recognize this right?

6). Will you call upon the civil, religious and most importantly, the theocratic leaders throughout the world to reopen the places of worship that they may have closed or may have been closed by their predecessors, within their lands and to permit the free and unencumbered exercise of the religion of choice by all people in all lands? If not, please explain how your position ”is inherently compatible with American life”?7). Will you acknowledge a universal right of equality between the sexes and call for an end to the “crimes against humanity” being committed in Dafur, Sudan? Will you call for an end to the barbaric and sexist practices of mutilating, stoning and beheading of women, whenever these actions might be occurring throughout the world? If you refuse to condemn these actions will you explain how these actions are “inherently compatible with American life”?

8). Will you call for an immediate end to the barbaric practice of executing individuals because of their sexual orientation and for an end to the equally barbaric practice of drugging and raping virgin’s prior to their execution. (“Members of Iran’s feared Basij militia forcibly marry female virgin prisoners the night before scheduled executions, raping their new “wives” and making it religiously acceptable to execute them, a self-professed member of the paramilitary group says… ” –    http://www.news.com.au/iran-virgin-prisoners-raped-for-legal-executions/story-0-1225752873650 ; Google “Virgin Rape Iran” for a long list of articles condemning this barbaric practice )

9). You have refused to acknowledge or condemn HAMAS as a terrorist organization. The Charter of HAMAS states that, “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it”. http://www.mideastweb.org/hamas.htm

Absent a general condemnation of HAMAS, will you as an Iman and a purported “Liberal/Progressive Muslim American leader”, denounce and condemn this specific component of the HAMAS charter, that your faith, Islam, has the right to ”obliterate” any other People, Race, Religion or Country?  Certainly, you must be willing to condemn the basic “concept” that any faith, be it “Islam” or any other faith or religion,  has a right to “obliterate” any other faith, people, religion or Country … the Imam does recognize, doesn’t he, that such a concept is not “inherently compatible with American life”.

10). Will you specifically acknowledge that those individuals who choose not to believe in the “One True God” and choose to pursue forms of worship such as; Animism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism or those who choose not to pursue any religion at all, should be left to their personal freedom of expression, whatever it might be and that these individuals should never be put in fear of their life because of the choice they make and will you condemn those who will not acknowledge this universal right?

11). Was the execution of Saddam Hussein for “crimes against humanity” a just and acceptable action under Islamic Law as you understand that law?

12). You have expressed an unusual position on the United Nations sanctions against Iraq; using those sanctions to justify the attack on innocent civilians in the WTC on 911 because of the “blood on American hands” that you associate with the United Nation’s Iraqi sanctions.

The United Nations has recently initiated a host of sanctions against Iran. Will those sanctions serve as a justification in your mind if other attacks are launched by extremist Islamic Militants against innocent American civilians?

The Ground Zero Imam – Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf; The Wrong Man, The Wrong Mosque, The Wrong Place, The Wrong Time…

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf  – Bridge Builder or Defender of the Islamic Faith – Extremists and Non-extremist alike

The Main Stream Media is at it again … blindly supporting Obama’s twisted logic ….

How many times have you heard the various Main Stream Media Pundits parrot the following statement, “Everyone agrees there is a “Constitutional Right” to build a Mosque at Ground Zero…

[If you are not familiar with the “Ground Zero memorial Park see: Rise of Freedom: Bringing Life to Ground Zero – First Trees for Ground Zero Memorial Park Start Journey ]

Being a bit of a Constitutional buff, I’d think someone in the MSM would ask the Constitutional Law Instructor in Chief where that “right” is enumerated in our Constitution. (That is correct, he was never a “Professor” – the correct term for his position was “lecturer”).

St Nicholas Church Moments Before Collapse OF WTC

Look it up for yourself, there is no such guarantee in the Constitution. Not even if the “church” owns the property as the President suggested and if the “church” meets and follows all local laws and ordinances.

If there were a Constitutional Right to build a house of worship, one might think that it would apply to all “houses of worship” equally … wouldn’t you … then again this is the Obama Administration and this Administration has a set of rules it applies like no other Administration in the history of the United States.

 St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church

Let me introduce you to the Parish of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, located at 155 Cedar Street, in New York City. St Nicholas Church was founded in 1919 when 5 Greek families bought a local Tavern and it’s property to establish the St. Nicholas Parish. The families paid $25,000 for the property; a vast sum of money in 1919. The Parish served the local community continuously from 1919 until 9/11/2001 when, after the attack on the WTC, Tower #2 collapsed on the Church and obliterated it.

http://directionstoorthodoxy.org/n/st_nicholas_orthodox_church_destroyed_at_ground_zero_is_still_at.html

http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/12/06/no-church-at-ground-zero-yet-faith-and-hope-persist/

With this “magical” Constitutional right invoked for the Mosque, I’m confused as to why St. Nicholas hasn’t been “granted permission” to rebuild. Why do they need “permission” …. I thought it was a Constitutional right … http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/08/17/ground-zero-church-archdiocese-says-officials-forgot/

This isn’t a “new” church … it was an existing Church …a Church with an 80 year history of serving the local community before 9/11.

The Constitutional Right

What are they talking about … some mythical “freedom to build a house of  worship” … there is no such thing.

We are a Country of “limited rights” – we have “freedom of religion” , but you can’t stand and pray on the steps of the Supreme Court building … we have “Freedom of Speech” but you can’t sing the National Anthem on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial … “Freedom of Religion” but you can’t hold a prayer vigil in front of an abortion clinic … “Freedom of Religion”, but you can only take one wife at a time, doesn’t matter what your religion states… “Freedom of Speech”, but you can’t shout “fire” in a crowded movie theatre … we are a Country of limited rights …

Have you tried putting up a public Christmas display or singing a “Christmas Carol” at City Hall during Christmas Holiday?

Ground Zero Photo Map - Click To Enlarge - WTC 7 Top Center - Mosque is 1 block up W Broadway from Barclay

The Memorial Park at Ground Zero

The “memorial park” at ground zero is a “public cemetery’…  despite what the press may be trying to sell you … significant restrictions are imposed on structures and businesses around cemeteries … The Mosque will broadcast the “Muslim call to prayer” from speakers  5 times a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year …  a substantial burden to place on non-Muslims who wish to “worship” or “pay their respects” at Ground Zero … a Mosque can be located anywhere … Islamic terrorists created Ground Zero and Ground Zero cannot be moved …

Islamic call to prayer

The adhān (Arabic: ‎ Azan/Ezan is the Islamic call to prayer, recited by the muezzin. The root of the word is “to permit”, and another derivative of this word is “ear”.

Adhan is called out by the muezzin in the mosque, sometimes from a minaret, five times a day, summoning Muslims for mandatory  (fard) prayers (salah).

Map: Path Taken By Landing Gear Which Crashed Through the Roof Of Building To Be Replaced By Mosque - 1 Block From Ground Zero

The main purpose behind the loud pronouncement of adhan five times a day in every mosque is to make available to everyone an easily intelligible summary of Islamic belief. It is intended to bring to the mind of every believer and non-believer the substance of Islamic beliefs, or its spiritual ideology. Loudspeakers are sometimes installed on minarets for the purpose. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adhan

The Islamic call to prayer is an act of proselytizing … an act of recruitment … an act or attempt to convert as a proselyte … the “call to prayer” is designed to do just that … it is the specific intent of “the call” …

The United States has a proud history of allowing religious groups to proselytize … or recruit, however, the right to do so stops at the door of  another religions’ house of worship and at the front gate of any Memorial Garden … but I wouldn’t suggest you hold your breath waiting for the Obama Administration to send out the DOJ to enforce these restrictions on the proposed Mosque … just as I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for the DOJ to ask about the delay in granting St. Nicholas Church the right to rebuild …

A beautiful video of the “Call to Prayer” – 8 minutes long – but no matter the beauty, no matter the reverence – no matter the sincerity – it is simply impermissible to subject those non Muslim’s “praying” or “paying their respects” at the Ground Zero Memorial Garden to the intrusive announcement and proselytizing of the Muslim call to prayer – 5 times a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year … especially in light of the fact that these are the very same words that preceded the deaths of the loved ones entombed at Ground Zero… The Mosque can be located anywhere … despite our best efforts we can’t locate all the bodies …. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/25/nyregion/nyregionspecial3/25remains.html?_r=1

Excerpts from flight 91 Flight Recorder: The New York Times, April 12, 2006 By David Stout

“Ladies and gentlemen: here the captain,” a heavily accented voice begins over a constant crackle. “Please sit down, keep remaining seating. We have a bomb on board, so sit.”

“No more! No more!” someone says in the background. “No, no, no, no…”

“In the name of Allah, the most merciful, the most compassionate,” a hijacker says early on.

“No, no, no, no…” someone says moments later.

“Go ahead, lie down. Lie down. Down, down, down.”

“No more,” someone says seconds later. “Please, please, please, ” someone says. “Please, please, don’t hurt me.”

“I don’t want to die,” says one person, apparently a woman.

“No, no. Down, down, down, down, down, down,” another voice says.

“No, no, please.”

Moments later, about six minutes after the plane was seized, a hijacker says in Arabic, “Everything is fine. I finished.”

“Yes,” someone replies in Arabic.

While it may never be certain what that exchange hinted, a chilling possibility was offered on Tuesday, when information was offered about the nearly 40 telephone calls that Flight 93 passengers attempted during the ordeal. Not all calls went through. One that did was from Marion Britton, a passenger, to a friend. Ms. Britton told her the plane had been hijacked.

“Don’t worry,” the friend consoled. “They’ll probably take you to another country.”

“Two passengers have had their throats cut,” Ms. Britton replied.

The chant “Allah is the greatest!” is uttered nine times in Arabic, moments later, the jet crashes …

At 9:35, a woman prosecutors identified as a flight attendant begs for her life.

“I don’t want to die,” she pleads.

“No, no, down, down,” a hijacker responds.

“I don’t want to die. I don’t want to die,” she repeats.

Loud female cries then are heard on the tape.

“Everything is fine. I finished,” a hijacker says in Arabic…

Inside the cockpit the hijackers decide to crash the plane. “Pull it down. Pull it down,” an Arabic voice says. The jetliner heads downward and rolls.

“Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest!” one of the hijackers shouts over and over again.

Tell me again Imam, whose hands are covered in blood …

Islam – Muslim Jihad / Japan – Shinto Militarism

A deeper, more thorough understanding of Jihadism, can be obtained if one studies the religious pragmatism of Japan and the utilization of the Shinto religion by Japan’s “militarists” between the 17th and 19th centuries. http://www.spiegel.de/international/0,1518,474092-2,00.html

To the Jihadist, the Prophet Mohammed’s words directs one’s actions … In Japan, the “Prophet” was the Japanese Emperor. In Japan the Emperor was God’s representative on earth …

In Japan, the “faithful” preceded the Emperor shouting “Banzai”, “Banzai”, “Banzai” …. “Banzai” being a “prayer” that the Emperor live and reign 10,000 years … later “heroic imperial soldiers met their deaths crying “Tenno banzai” – “10,000 lives for the Tenno.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_thousand_years

I don’t believe the Japanese were promised virgins in the next life…

Al-Shebab Beheads 7 "Christian Spies"

Not so long ago every American recognized the term “Banzai” as the term uttered by our Japanese foes in World War II as they launched suicidal charges against our land troops or crashed their planes on the decks of our Navy ships … http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinto  suicide attacks by military personnel against military targets … not attacks against unarmed civilians …

At the end of World War II, the Shinto religion lost its status as the “official” religion of Japan; however, the Shinto religion remained Japan’s largest. The Shinto religion is recognized in the United States and there are “Shinto Temples” located across the United States. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Shinto_shrines_in_the_United_States

No one would ever suggest that it would be appropriate to locate a Shinto Shrine, never mind that some mythical “Constitutional Right” existed to establish a “Shinto Shrine” on the shores of Pearl Harbor where the chant of “Banzai, Banzai, Banzai” would echo across the waters on a daily basis; the waters where so many American serviceman remain entombed.

The Constitution – When Religious Beliefs Collide

I want you to stop and imagine for a moment that the “Bosnian Killing Fields”, where 8,000 Muslims were murdered in cold blood, were located in upstate New York instead of Srebrenica. Next imagine that a Christian Group announced plans to build a Community Center and Church on the “Killing Fields”, you know, to help build bridges between the ‘groups” and that loud speakers would adorn the “Center” and broadcast the “Rosary” across the fields, five times a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year …. Who would be protesting that exercise of “Freedom of Religion” …. the permits to build would be denied outright, and the denial would be applauded not protested ….

The Genocide In Dafur, Sudan – A Decade of Genocide By Islamic Extremists

Read this excerpt from 10/10/2006…

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Two years have passed since then-Secretary of State Colin Powell reported to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that genocide was being committed in Darfur, Sudan. Samuel Totten awakes in the middle of the night sometimes and remembers the accounts of rape, torture and slayings that he documented while spending two weeks in 2004 at refugee camps in neighboring Chad.

Despite Powell’s assessment, the international community has done little to stop the killing and brutalization or help the people of Darfur, Totten lamented. Government of Sudan troops and Arab militia known as Janjaweed attacked village after village of black Africanshttp://dailyheadlines.uark.edu/9402.htm

Since 2003, the genocidal conflict in Darfur has devastated millions of non-combatant civilians and resulted in the death of at least 200,000 people. As of 2010, Sudan continues to direct its troops and proxy Janjaweed militias to systematically destroy the livelihoods of Darfuris by bombing and burning villages, looting economic resources, and murdering, raping, and torturing non-combatant civilians.

Imam  Feisal Abdul Rauf  – Bridge Builder or Defender of the Islamic Faith – Extremists and Non-extremist alike

April 2, 2010 in The American Muslim …. oh my, the Imam won’t even admit that genocide has taken place or is taking place in Dafur … no mention of Muslim extremists … wow, what a middle of the road type of guy …. I’m sure the people of Sudan would be impressed… sounds like the type of guy that would hesitate before condemning the terrorist organization HAMAS … Remember the date 04/02/2010 … you’ll read it again shortly …

Cordoba Initiative Unveils New Push in Sudan

Organization to Focus on Elections, US-Sudan Relations and Other Challenges and Opportunities

NEW YORK – The Cordoba Initiative (CI), a leading global civil society organization promoting understanding between the Muslim world and the West, announced on Monday a major new initiative to help improve relations between the US and Sudan. “There is now an opportunity for the US and Sudan to fundamentally change their relationship,” said Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, Chairman of CI. “This will help each nation achieve its goals. It is also a way to build goodwill between the West and the Muslim world. http://theamericanmuslim.org/tam.php/features/articles/cordoba_initiative_unveils_new_push_in_sudan/

(For a PDF Version Visit: The Ground Zero Mosque – Obama’s Twisted Logic – Facts From Fiction – Photo Maps/Photos/Maps )

The Imam should stop the political BS and admit that the genocide is taking place … The Nazi’s denied the genocide in WWII, the Bosnian’s denied the genocide until the mass graves were uncovered  (some even continued to deny the genocide after forensic analysis of the graves were completed) …. the genocide in Sudan will not stop until the Sudanese Government and its “defenders” and “supporters”, Imam Rauf included, admit that the genocide is taking place and demand that it stop … the best way to “create goodwill” is to stop the raping, torturing and murdering of black African villagers in their own villages… the first step to “goodwill” is to stop the atrocities, not deny their existence…

The Crisis in Dafur – Islamic Racism – The North/South Divide

The New York Times (15 May 2004) said that many of the racist attitudes traditionally directed toward slaves have been redirected to the sedentary non-Arab  racist ideology plays an important part of the Genocide, the sharp distinctions between Arabs and Africans in the racially mixed Darfur region had not been drawn (as much) until the ideology of pan-Arabism that came out of the Libya made itself felt. Some of the nomadic sheiks of the region came to see themselves as the avatars of Arabism, the authentic representatives of their Bedouin origins. They foisted a racial label on a farming people whose way of life they simultaneously disdained and felt threatened by. Blacks in Sudan are seen as inferior to the Arabs, the racism, racial sentiments against non-Arabs have been used & manipulated by the central government. The Christian Science Monitor asserts that racism is at root of Sudan’s Darfur crisis, that reluctance to call it genocide perpetuates hypocrisy in Afro-Arab relations, “Arab militias is the racist, fundamentalist, and undemocratic Sudanese state”  those who call themselves Arabs point to Arab ancestors who arrived as traders both before and after the arrival of Islam, and who gradually converted local Sudanese to the Islamic faith. president Nimeiry of Sudan, said in 1969: “Sudan is the basis of the Arab thrust into the heart of Black Africa, the Arab civilizing mission.” This genocide has been described as an example of Arab racism at its worst.

The Arab Gathering, a shadowy Nazi type brotherhood deeply embedded in the Bashir regime, preaches a doctrine of Arab supremacy and a Sudan “cleansed” of non-Arabs.  Der Spiegel wrote that the Sudanese regime uses tribal conflicts and Arab racism.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darfur_conflict

Reread Imam Rauf’s “letters”, then reread the comments made by the NYT, the Christian Science Monitor and Der Spiegel … are they even referring to the same “conflict”… the same “Sudan” ….

“Beware the wolf in sheep’s clothing” …  a tale from Aesop, the Greek, 600 years before the birth of the Christ and 1200 years before the birth of the Prophet Mohammed…

Janjaweeds

The Janjaweed, a militia armed by the Sudanese government, are pastoral Arab tribesmen who have long despised the black African farmers who practice settled agriculture. They are described as “a grotesque mixture of the mafia and the Ku Klux Klan”, a journalist on CNN says. “These guys have a racist ideology that sees the Arab population as the supreme population that would like to see the subjugation of non-Arab peoples. They’re criminal racketeers that have been supported very directly by the government to wage the war against the people of Darfur.”, from PBS: “blatant racism and a political ideology known as “Arab supremacism” also fuel the Janjaweed’s agenda.” who “are cleaning the land of non-Arabs.”, the BBC: “Arab militias of a campaign of ethnic cleansing against non-Arab locals.”, the US State Department in 2005 report on Sudan’s Human Rights Practices : “The government continued to support the largely Arab nomad janjaweed militia”and that Darfurians were “threatened with death, and subjected to racial epithets during attacks.”, the attackers “call non-Arab Africans “abid” or slave, and zurga, which means Black, but is used as a racial slur.” There were reports (See: The Guardian 20 Jul, 2004) of Arab women singers complicit in rape, “While African women in Darfur were being raped by the Janjaweed militiamen, Arab women stood nearby and sang for joy.”   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darfur_conflict

Imam Rauf, let us forget about “building goodwill”, let us get down to “brass tacks” … call the evil acts what they are … “evil”. Call the “evil speech” what it is, “evil”, and call for an end to the evil now …… don’t hesitate, don’t parse your words, don’t try to shift the blame … a moderate man does not turn a blind eye to evil … there is nothing moderate about denying evil nor is there moderation in defending the evil actions of others because they share your faith …

Now Imam, that isn’t what you do … in every instance you place blame outside the pale of Islamic barbarism … the barbaric attack on the World Trade Center, the barbarism of genocide in Dafur, Sudan… different people, different continents … same barbarism ….

Tell me Imam about the blood on the hands of the poor African villagers in Dafur, just how did they offend Islam … by being alive?

Support the International Criminal Court: Justice Now for the Women and Girls of Darfur

Thousands of girls and women have been raped and subjected to other forms of sexual violence in Darfur. Inquiries by the Prosecutor of the ICC identified “high numbers of…mass rapes and other forms of extremely serious gender violence”, and a U.N. Commission of Inquiry found that these abuses amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity. However, authorities in Sudan have refused to comply with ICC requests or otherwise allow the Court to conduct investigations in Darfur.

April 02, 2010

(The same date as the Imam’s letter in The American Muslim – What a stark contrast. The U.N. is about to announce the withdrawal of the “Dafur Peace Keepers” and all Imam Rauf can say is, ““There is now an opportunity for the US and Sudan to fundamentally change their relationship”.  From a historical context, the Imams statement reminds me of Adolf Hitler speaking to Neville Chamberlin before German Troops marched into the Sudeten Land. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neville_Chamberlain

Next week, the UN Secretary-General’s report on the future of the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic and Chad (MINURCAT) peacekeeping force in Eastern Chad will be released, outlining the withdrawal of peacekeeping troops in the Chad-Sudan border region (Dafur) visited by PHR researchers in 2008. The report  “Nowhere to Turn: Failure to Protect, Support and Assure Justice for Darfuri Women”, released by PHR in June 2009, outlined urgent human rights issues in Eastern Chad, including food insecurity, camp infrastructure, access to health and psychosocial care, and security for refugee families. Among the disturbing findings of our investigation was a 50% rate of rape or sexual assault reported by women interviewed by the PHR medical team.

Darfuri women live ‘nightmare,’ Harvard-backed study says

(CNN) — An American human rights group documenting widespread sexual violence against Darfuri women in Sudan and Chad has called for “vigorous prosecution of rape as a war crime.”

Physicians for Human Rights, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, issued a report Sunday “documenting the scope and long-term impact of rape and other sexual violence” experienced by women who fled the war-torn Sudanese region of Darfur and now live as refugees in neighboring Chad.

The report — titled “Nowhere To Turn: Failure To Protect, Support and Assure Justice for Darfuri Women” — is based on interviews with 88 female refugees living in Chad’s Farchana refugee camp. The study was done with the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative.

Obama 2008:Voter Fraud, Post Election Violence And Genocide

No, I’m not referring to today’s Presdiential election. I’m referring to Obama’s 2007 involvement in the Presidential elections in Kenya – a subject virtually ignored by the US Press but covered by the International Press.

Obama toured Kenya at US Taxpayer Expense in 2007. While in Kenya he Campaigned for his cousin Raila Odinga. Odinga had previously been jailed for his part in an unsuccessful attempt at the violent overthrow of the Kenyan Government (1982).                    http://allafrica.com/stories/200607210225.html                     http://www.sundayvision.co.ug/detail.php?mainNewsCategoryId=7&newsCategoryId=648&newsId

CBS International Reports – Obama Campaigns for Odinga – His Cousin – Obama described as “stooge” for Odinga by Kenyan Government Spokesman.

Odinga claims he and Obama are cousins. They are members of the Kenya’s Luo tribe. Odinga admitts to being a Marxist/Soviet styled Communist. He was education on a Russian Scholarship to an East German University in the 1960’s. Odinga named his son after Cuban President Fidel Castro.  http://www.kenya-advisor.com/kenya-and-the-cold-war.html

Reuters Reports Obama/Odinga Cousins –
NOTE: At the end of the above video Odinga claims Obama was negotiating on behalf of Odinga with Kenyan President Kibaki.

Obama actively campaigned for Odinga while Odinga negotiated a “political agreement” with Kenya’s Islamic leaders that would establish Sharia (Islamic) Courts of law, prohibit public displays of or the public worship of Chistianity, deny woman access to education and implement Sharia dress standards for Kenyan woman. Both Obama and Odinga denied the existence of this agreement, as the Washington Times states, “Mr. Odinga had the backing of Kenya’s Muslim community heading into the election. For months he denied any ties to Muslim leaders, but fell silent when Sheik Abdullahi Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum, appeared on Kenya television displaying a memorandum of understanding signed on Aug. 29, 2007, by Mr. Odinga and the Muslim leader. Mr. Odinga then denied his denials, embracing the previously denied agreement.”

The details of the MOU were shocking. In return for Muslim backing, Mr. Odinga promised to impose a number of measures favored by Muslims if he were elected president. Among these were recognition of “Islam as the only true religion,” Islamic leaders would have an “oversight role to monitor activities of ALL other religions [emphasis in original],” installation of Shariah courts in every jurisdiction, a ban on Christian preaching, replacement of the police commissioner who “allowed himself to be used by heathens and Zionists,” adoption of a women’s dress code, and bans on alcohol and pork. The agreement also calls for Kenya to establish a “safe-haven” for terriorist being sought by the US. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/oct/12/obamas-kenya-ghosts/

NTV – Kenyan National TV / Nairobi – Broadcast cited above – (MOU) Kenyan Muslim Leadership Confirming Agreement – Odinga embraces the agreement at the end of the broadcast.

Odinga later made the MOU, described above, a center piece of his campaign ………

NTV – Odinga Campaings On MOU in Kenya’s Coast Region – Kenya’s Leading Muslim’s In Attendance

The Odinga/Obama campaign heightened Tribal and Religous animosities.

Odinga lost the contested election and his suppoprters ignited tragic inter-tribal violence that claimed over 1500 lifes and displaced over 500,000. In one instance of particlaurly brutal violence, ” “About 50 parishioners were locked into the Assemblies of God church before it was set ablaze. They were mostly women and children. Those who tried to flee were hacked to death by machete-wielding members of a mob numbering 2,000.” By mid-February 2008, more than 1,500 Kenyans were killed. Many were slain by machete-armed attackers. More than 500,000 were displaced by the religious strife. Villages lay in ruin. Many of the atrocities were perpetrated by Muslims against Christians.”       http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/oct/12/obamas-kenya-ghosts/

THE BBC REPORTS ON THE ELDORET MASSACRE AND THE TRIBAL VIOLENCE – THE UNITED NATIONS STATES THAT WHILE THERE WERE “IRREGULARITIES” THE ELECTION WAS NOT STOLEN. President Kibaki remains in office today.

Contrary to Press Reports – The Luo Tribe, Odinga and Obama’s Tribe, is not the predominant ethnic group in Kenya. Kenya’s Ethnic breakdown, based on 2000 Census Data is; Kikuyu Tribe 22%, Luhya Tribe14%, Luo Tribe 13%, Kalenjin Tribe 12%, Kambia Tribe 11%, Kisil Yribe 6%, Meru Tribe 6%, other African 15%, non-African (Asian, European and Arab) 1%. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenyan

And while it is believed that Kenya has experienced a dramatic increase in the number of Keyan’s who profess to be Muslim, it is still believed that Christians still out number Muslims at better than 5 to 1 ratio. The 2000 Census data revealed this breakdown –  Protestant 45%, Roman Catholic 33%, Muslim 10%, indigenous beliefs 10%, other 2%. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenyan

Assertions that Kenya is predominantly Muslim or Luo are simply false.
